Pro

Pro is the threshold plan. Not because of the extra usage — because of what it unlocks.

Price
$17/month billed annually, $20/month billed monthly. Roughly a 15% annual discount.
When Pro is not enough
The signal is hitting usage limits mid-task rather than at the end of the week. That is what Max is for — 5x or 20x Pro’s usage, plus higher output limits, early feature access and priority traffic. See Pro vs Max.
If you need central billing, SSO or admin controls, the answer is Team regardless of usage.
Comparisons
- The API vs a Claude subscriptionA Claude subscription is for a person using Claude. The API is for software calling Claude. They do not share limits, credits or accounts. If you need both, you buy both — and plenty of people do.
- Pro vs MaxMax unlocks nothing that Pro does not already have. You are buying 5x or 20x the usage, higher output limits, early feature access and priority traffic. If you are not hitting Pro's limits mid-task, you do not need Max yet.
