The Free plan is more capable than “free tier” usually implies. It includes web, iOS, Android and desktop access, code generation, data visualisation, content creation, web search, memory, file creation, code execution, desktop extensions, Slack and Google Workspace integration, connectors and extended thinking.

What it does not include

The separate products. Claude Code, Claude Cowork, Claude Design and Claude Science all start at Pro.

Also absent: unlimited Projects, Research access, model choice, and the Microsoft 365 integration.

The usage limit

The pricing page states Free receives 50% of weekly limits for the Fable model. The underlying weekly limit itself is not published as an absolute number, which means the honest statement is relative, not absolute — this reference does not invent one.

Who it is genuinely enough for

Occasional use, evaluation before committing, and anyone whose work is conversation rather than delegation. The moment you want an agent to do something — write code across a repository, produce a deliverable from your files — you are looking at Pro.
