anthropics/claude-code
The Claude Code repository — source, issue tracker, and the fastest route to reporting a bug or checking whether one is already known.
The public repository for Claude Code. Source, issues and pull requests.
Why it belongs in a reference like this
Because it is where the answer usually is. Claude Code ships frequently, and the gap between “something changed” and “the documentation says so” is where most confusion lives. The issue tracker is the fastest way to find out whether the thing you are seeing is a known regression, an intended change, or your own configuration.
The /bug command inside Claude Code files a report here directly.
Also worth knowing
Distributed via npm, Homebrew, WinGet and native installers, and requires Node.js 18+. Native
installations auto-update in the background; Homebrew and WinGet installations do not — those need
brew upgrade or winget upgrade run manually to pick up features and security fixes.
That difference catches people who installed via a package manager and then wondered why a documented feature was missing.
